Got the ink done, I’m doing a Photoshop tutorial with it at moment.

Man I feel like hell. For some fool reason I was lighting up every time my sister and her fiance did, so between drinking shots of Jim Beam and trying to match two pack-a-day smokers, my stomach is now in full revolt. I fully expect it to come after the rest of me Guy Fawkes style, with explosives and then Agent Smith will come in and pick up where my stomach left off.

First, I finally got that one thing backposted. Yay.

I’ve been wanting to do a pirate story with Sophia for a while, and the interminable new Pirates movie kinda rekindled that. Hence the historically inaccurate drawing of Sophia Diaz as a pirate.

I’m gonna try and get this inked and colored today, at which point I’ll do something crazy like explaining who the hell Sophia Diaz is.

This is completely random, but fuck those assholes. Almost entirely without exception, they’re too inept to convey a concept without slapping a label on every element in the frame, too lazy to draw more than one panel, and almost universally too talentless to draw anything more than an amorphous blob (not to be confused with carbosilicate amorphs) with the chubby vestiges of a head and arms or a glorified stick figure with a disproportionately bulbous head. (This doesn’t, of course, apply to Ed Stein. I’m not a fan of his, but he’s got some talent, and does more comics in a week than I did in 2006. Literally.)

While checking comics, I was just asked by Firefox for a username and password to “PVP is down for some tech stuff.” That’s actually pretty damn slick.

NHB is now on. Fuck I’ve missed listening to NHB.

Oh, and someone tell Damon that NHB is now on the front page of Stickam. It isn’t, but calling up and declaring it is the cool thing to do now.

If you don’t know what Stickam is, it’s a fucking hole that quality enters, but never escapes. It’s a place for you to broadcast via webcam. NHB simulcasts there, but is constantly being kicked off their scheduled slot on the frontpage to make room for a couple of kids making crank calls, “Epileptic Gaming,” and user-submitted videos. They’re bumped for fucking YouTube reruns, who the fuck is running that site?

Ah well, at least I can listen, and Autopodcaster is actually working so I can get caught up on the stuff I missed. Woo.

Finally got my internet back up. I’m annoyed that I have to pay a $50 installation fee for something I could’ve done myself, but it did get me out of work early, and it made me completely miss what appears to be, in technical terms, a whole metric fuck ton of rain. I also did a little bit of work, nothing too spectacular, and I’ll back-post it once I get my router plugged in. (Apparently my ISP would frown upon the use of a router, but I doubt very much that their WiFi modems have a firewall, and I’m not paying extra for it regardless.)

This is the backpost alluded to earlier. Just got a little more work done on the lineart that Dave Lister posted at Paradox Lost a few months back. Nothing like coloring someone else’s lines to give you a headache. I mean, teach you to color better. Yeah, that’s what I meant. >_>

This was actually pretty slick, though Dave’s inking style is pretty different from mine, in ways that make it harder to color. We’ll call it a challenge / learning experience.

Also, my laziness is not looking forward to all the little details in the clothing. I can already tell it’ll drive me nuts. Ah well.

I don’t think I mentioned it here, but my roommate’s lease ended this month, meaning that his obligation to the cocksuckers at Kimberly Woods is completed, and my obligation to help him finish said lease is also completed. (And my new place is nice.) My internet isn’t hooked up yet, but moving means I haven’t drawn anything to put up here anyhow. I’m expecting to have Comcast all sorted out by the end of the week, hopefully, so in the meantime I’m gonna finish this and unplug the modem. (For some reason they require me to turn it in, even though I’m moving literally down the street. Oh well.)

Also, my (now former) roommate’s keyboard sucks, and the Sumo Omni is totally worth the money. (It was also considerably easier to get up two flights of stairs than the couch I would’ve otherwise bought.)

Nothing drawn, but I did get the new page finished. Pretty much just puts a menu at www.brimzero.net with links to all the comics, instead of going straight to Brimzero. I kinda like it.

Also updated my contact info. Woo.

…what a conundrum.

I’ve been re-reading the Harry Potter books, and I can’t remember there ever being anything special for Thanksgiving like they have on Halloween and Christmas. Do they celebrate Thanksgiving in England? These are the things I wonder while waiting for the next book.
